Ashley Lord is an inspirational poet, voice artist, creator of The Light Library, and bestselling author of In the Heart of the Light: Poetry of Awakening.

​

She grew up in Port Credit, a waterfront village near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a young teenager she discovered yoga and meditation, and her sensitive heart led her deep into exploring the mysteries and philosophies of the healing arts.

 

After earning her bachelor's degree, Ashley found herself drawn less to convention and more to adventure. Over the next fifteen years she travelled, wrote, and taught throughout the world, working in both the hospitality industry and as a yoga and meditation teacher. Along the way, she immersed herself in the study of nervous system regulation, meditation, yoga therapy, sound healing, coaching, Thai massage and restorative practices—experiences that continue to shape her work today.

Ashley is now a full-time voice artist and creator, writing collections of poetry while lending her warm, soothing voice to projects across commercial, film and television. She is also the creator of The Light Library, a digital audio sanctuary for sensitive souls, where she crafts meditations, sleep stories, spoken word, poetry and restorative audio experiences that help people regulate their nervous systems, soften overwhelm and reconnect with themselves.

Alongside the beauty of travel and creativity, Ashley has also walked through seasons of anxiety, addiction recovery and emotional overwhelm. Those experiences became part of her medicine, shaping her compassion, her poetry and her devotion to creating spaces where people can finally exhale. Rather than seeing sensitivity as something to overcome, she has come to believe it is one of our greatest gifts when met with gentleness and understanding.

The imagery of her brand, Love, Ashley Lord, reflects this journey. As a child, Ashley's bedroom was covered in rainbow wallpaper—a reflection of her delight in colour, imagination and wonder. That love of rainbows has become an essential part of her artistic expression, symbolizing joy, hope and the creative light that lives within us all. Today, she weaves that same light through her poetry and voice, reminding others of the radiance they already carry inside.​

 

Her writing is rooted in love, resilience and the beautifully messy experience of being human. Blending poetic storytelling with calming audio experiences, Ashley creates spaces that feel like part love letter, part sage wisdom and part intimate diary entry. Whether through a poem, a meditation or a whispered sleep story, her hope is always the same: to help people soften, remember themselves and feel a little more at home in their own hearts.

 

Ashley lives in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, tucked into the mountains with her fiancé and their two cats.
